Kabluey - Best Movie of 2008
This offbeat small-budget-movie from 2008 was probably the best I’ve seen in that year. And it was the year of “Dark Knight”, “Wall-E”, “Benjamin Button” and “Hellboy II”, which I still like!
But those are movies about robots, superheroes or even crime fighting devils. Poor Salman, who has to work as a corporate mascot, is a real human being instead. As much as I hate to admit it, but I can relate to that a lot better.
“Kabluey” was written, produced, directed and played by Scott Prendergast. It is sad, sometimes dark but always funny. The anthem for modern alienation! My movie of the month January 2011 – in retrospect.
