The New and Improved Bibleman

When I heard about the superhero “Bibleman” for the first time I was sitting in a bar in Atlanta with a group of Europeans from different countries. (It was during the E3 1997.) I was the only one who believed the story instantly and tried to see it during our stay. It just had to be cheesy and goofy – and it was. Isn’t the concept of defending Christian values with a light saber brilliant? The Bibleman video game for example is called “A Fight for Faith”!
But in fact Willie Aames and his team didn’t take their show too seriously. An example: All villains are played by the same actor who breaks out in a song and dance routine in every single show. Bibleman just sighs and waits patiently to slice “Luxor” or “El Furioso” or “Shadow of Doubt” or “Dr. Fear” into slices.
Though this setup is bizarre Bibleman transports conservative theology like the flawlessness of the bible anyway. And it has gotten worse now that a new Bibleman has taken the sword from Willie Aames. The concept was modernized and all the self-mockery has gone. They even turned the show into a musical!
So watch and tremble with horror, Satan: Bibleman’s homepage, the music video of Shadow of Doubt, the Bibleman Live Show and – first and foremost – the new Bibleman.
