Dear much valued In-Sect reader or member: Please take a minute to read a captivating story taken directly from my life. One minute, o.k.?
One week ago I found a new link to the In-Sect at “Successful and Outstanding Blogs”, the blog of ME ‘Liz’ Strauss. I was really honored to see that Liz incorporated my beloved In-Sect at her list of “unique and outstanding blogs so compelling and remarkable that (they) stick with you.” Here’s the corresponding article.
Filled with proud I clicked on some of the blogs out of pure curiosity. (A characteristic known to threaten cathood!) I found “25 Peeps” a website where blogs are ranked by the portraits of their owners or, to be exact, by the number of clicks the chosen portrayals provokes. Nice idea, I thought – still brimming with the typical male haughtiness of a world famous blogwriter – reminds me of Forty Faces. In two minutes I submitted my photograph without a further thought. In the last week I checked 25 peeps daily to see if my face is already online. Yeah, I’m vain, granted. What did I see? “Peeps” obvisiously derives from “peeping”... Put more bluntly: It’s boobs that win the race! Do I feel discriminated? No – the page made by fellow bavarian Hendrik Mans is just a funny game. BUT: Is the blogosphere really ruled by machos still?
Dear heterosexual female reader/member of the In-Sect: Surf to “25 peeps” and click on me or ANY other male face you like!
Yes, I’d like to vote: 25 Peeps
Boobs? I’d like to see boobs: 25 Peeps (You see, I’m tolerant, but somehow sooo dissapointed of you…)
