What you see on this photo may be the beginning of a storm! It’s the first demonstration of a new movement in the Netherlands. “One of our supporters, Maarten Vreeswijk from Limburg, is here shown claiming back New York with one of the signs we distributed among our supporters.”
As Nico Akkerman, President of “Give Us Back New York” puts it: “For over 200 years, we’ve watched our proud city evolve the wrong way. But the bell has chimed! The time has come for New York to be returned to its righteous owner: The Netherlands!” And we know: It’s a given fact that New York once was New Amsterdam, before it had an Indian name probably. (It had other names too, but no one likes to speak about that). And the laws of the Netherlands may even fit better to the Big Tulip than the laws the Republican Government tends to prescribe. Gay marriage, soft drug use, prostitution and abortion are not bothering the tolerant Dutch. “Doe maar gewoon, dan doe je al gek genoeg” (Just act normally, that’s crazy enough)
