Who is the writer, director and producer of movies like “Diplodocus at Large”, “The Teenage Frankenstein meets the Teenage Werewolf “, “Dragstrip Dracula” and “Superduperman”?
Don Glut is! Best known for his novelization of “The Empire Strikes Back”, he also invented the back story for He-Man and many of the characters. He wrote many motion picture and television scripts; novels and nonfiction book, numerous short stories, articles, songs and comic-book scripts. Recently he founded “Frontline Entertainment” to do what he loved to do as a teenager: Making movies!
Quote: “From 1953 to 1969, one of my main passions in life was making amateur movies. At first I didn’t really want to make movies as much as show them. There was a 16mm movie camera in the Glut family since before I was born. I loved horror and science fiction films, but in those early days virtually none were available to show on our home-movie screen. The solution: To screen ‘monster’ type movies at home, anytime I wanted, I’d have to make them myself!”
And he even made a DVD with 12 hours of these cheesy fanart masterpieces!
Visit Don’s homepage or his production company (And buy “Dinosaur Valley Girls”) and read about his amateur movies. (The site even got some small movie examples)
