In 2003 Daniel Cummerow, a mathematic and a composer from Sweden worked out a way to make certain constants, functions and numbers hearable. And who could resist to listen to pi’s medievial sound or Euler’s phi function’s almost tropical rhythm? And if you are through with these, there is still the Omega constant, the tau function, Pascal’s triangle, the Niven numbers or – depicted above – Lorenz’s butterfly. Sounds impressive, but I really have no clue what I am babbling about here. I just copied those technical terms from Daniel’s site…
